Throughout the year, our employees dedicate their time and talents to volunteering with nonprofits in Syracuse and surrounding areas. Beyond using our skills as builders, we also wrap gifts, greet guests, paint, clean, donate food, prepare and serve meals, deliver meals, fill baskets and envelopes, give time, and even donate blood.
The need is great, and so are our hearts.
We continue our charitable efforts by focusing on key causes, sponsoring, and participating in community events. Our team takes pride in serving on volunteer boards and contributing to countless projects, often quietly and without recognition, driven by the joy of giving back.

2025 Major Gift
As we continue our longstanding partnership with SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF) Hueber-Breuer has pledged $250,000 to the Campaign for ESF.
The funds will support a range of ESF initiatives, including:
- Unrestricted scholarships
- The Timbuctoo Program, which is committed to increasing awareness, access, and opportunity in environmental fields for high school-aged youth from systemically marginalized communities
- The Construction Management Degree Program, and
- Conservation efforts on the Onondaga Lake watershed
Our Collective Impact
- Served Meals at The Samaritan Center
- Prepped and Delivered Meals at Meals on Wheels
- Donated blood to The American Red Cross
- Contributed to Toys for Tots
- Collected coats, hats and mittens for We Rise Above The Streets Recovery Outreach Inc.
Samaritan Center is an interfaith effort of community members committed to serving the hungry and those in need in order to promote their welfare dignity and self-sufficiency.
It is rooted in the belief that sound nutrition is the first step in enabling people to cope and become productive, self-sufficient members of society.
For over 42 years, Samaritan Center has worked to fight hunger in the greater Syracuse community by providing nutritious hot meals to anyone in need 7 days a week.
Beautify Berwyn

Hueber-Breuer deployed its team of helping hands, providing revitalizing resources to their neighbors on Berwyn Avenue. Click below for more information and to follow the project’s exciting progress!
For more than 150 years, Hueber-Breuer has been rooted in the community, with its location on Berwyn Avenue in Syracuse, NY, where the Hueber family once resided in a home.
Originally founded as Hueber Brothers Construction in 1872, Hueber-Breuer has proudly called Berwyn its home for six generations. Today, the company is excited to give back to the street that has been a cornerstone of its history, filled with countless memories and achievements.
In fall 2021, Hueber-Breuer mobilized to support its Berwyn Avenue neighbors, coordinating with the City of Syracuse to install a new sidewalk. The company also hosted a Community Trash Removal Day and a Cleanup Day in spring 2022, improving the street and curbs. Next, plans include tree trimming, shrubbery removal, and new plantings in collaboration with the City arborist as part of the Beautify Berwyn initiative.
Hueber-Breuer is happy to be breathing new life into a personally historic road and hopes their neighbors are enjoying the fresh sprucing up!

Andrew, Nick, Tim and Casey assisted with spreading 26 yards of mulch into the playground at Bellevue Heights Nursery School. They also rebuilt and reinstalled a broken birdhouse and built and installed a new mud kitchen for the students. They will also be helping to replace a broken bridge on the play structure and helping with the repairs of two wooden benches.
